Historical and Clinical Perspectives of Art by Patients Who Report Extreme, Ritualized, and Organized Trauma

This 90 minute lecture is a brief introduction to the historical and clinical possibility of ritual abuse and mind control. The lecture is presented via art made by several past clients and patients, in sessions and in-between sessions, from as early as the 1980s and 1990s. The primary focus of this presentation is about how to respectfully bear witness to what is brought to a session, even if the content validity is doubted.

The content of the art in this lecture is extreme and difficult to witness, yet if we cannot look at the art by those who are suffering, how can we be present for our clients and patients? This lecture does not prepare any therapist to work with this clinical population without adequate supervision from an expert.
